Arlington C.E.R.T. Seeks Volunteers

CERT Volunteers Sought, Information Session Jan. 6 

The Arlington Emergency Management Agency is seeking Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers and is hosting an information session on Jan. 6th, 7p.m. - 10 p.m at the Arlington Senior Center, 27 Maple Street. CERT trained volunteers perform essential lifesaving functions while waiting for professional responders to arrive following a disaster.

Course topics include disaster fire suppression, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, disaster psychology, and team organization. The training will be spread out over nine weeks and held at an Arlington location.  Grant funding for this program is provided by Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency (MEMA).
