Tonight: Climate Change Talk at Robbins

Boston University Professor Richard Primack will give a talk, "Impacts of Climate Change on the Birds and Plants of Massachusetts."

Today is Tuesday, Jan. 15. Here are five things you need to know:

1.) Richard Primack, a Boston University professor, will give a talk, “Impacts of Climate Change on the Birds and Plants of Massachusetts,” at 7 p.m. tonight in the Robbins Library Community Room. Over the past 10 years, Primack and his colleagues have been using Henry David Thoreau’s journals to determine the impacts of a warming climate on the birds, butterflies and wildflowers of Concord and surrounding communities of Massachusetts. The event is being sponsored by the Friends of the Robbins Library and is free and open to the public. Read more.

2.) The Arlington High boys’ and girls’ indoor track teams will face Reading at 4 p.m. today at Harvard University’s track (it’s behind the football stadium). The girls’ basketball team will host Reading at 7 p.m. tonight; the boys’ basketball team will be at Reading at the same time.

3.) The Arlington Catholic boys’ and girls’ indoor track teams will face Marian at 4:30 p.m. today at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston. The boys’ basketball team will host Bishop Fenwick at 6:30 p.m. tonight; the girls’ team will be at Bishop Fenwick at the same time.

5.) Today’s expected to be sunny with a high near 41, according to the National Weather Service.
