Spring's Great Escape

Sometimes the littlest things can make for the biggest escapes.

After buckling and unbuckling car seats, and lugging hats, coats and lunch boxes in and out of the car, sometimes moms just need to lighten their load.

After a morning with someone pulling on on your coat sleeves, an afternoon of kids jumping on you, climbing on you and even smothering you with kisses, by the evening you just need a little space.

A great little mom escape that doesn't take much time and costs nothing is to head outside with nothing more than your keys and enjoy the longer days and a good view.  Now that the sun is setting closer to 7 p.m. than 4 p.m. you can get the kids tucked in and head out.  is a great spot to just walk up the hill, sit on a bench or a blanket, and enjoy the view.

If hanging out by yourself is not your favorite thing to do then grab a girlfriend, an old friend, a sister or brother and take a nice little walk around and notice the buds that are starting to appear on the trees.  If you have an artistic flair, then grab a camera or a sketch pad and try to capture these early days of spring.

Another great outing is for a stroll in the woods.  You can stop in one of the fields and feel the breeze pass you by.  Keep an eye out for the first colors of spring as little crocuses peek through.

So grab a warm sweater, a blanket, maybe a good book, and escape outside for a little mom time.  Regardless of your schedule, you should be able to find at least a few minutes escape.  You deserve it.
