Punjabi Tadka is correct. It's the lunch special, and it was very good.

wow - they've got the standard Indian/Nepali restaurant stamped out metal platters that are set up for (1) one section of curry (2) one section of lentil daal (3) one huge section for the rice - and (4) sometimes a little place for the "achar" .. somthing spicy like a lime pickle (I turned the Nepalis onto horseradish) - something to add .. and then you proceed to make flavored rice balls. Usually the rice man circulates ladeling on more rice gratis ... you can imagine how inexpensive rice and lentils are, you add that curry and ... viola .. total veggie meal for about 75 cents!! If you add meat, of course you'll pay a couple of dollars . oops .. I forgot, I'm not in Kathmandu any more ... (actually, it still would cost lest than $1.50 to make that dish you see which is nutritious and delicious ... but what's a restaruant for .. and I hope they serve plenty of 'em.)

They serve this kind of dish at Royal India Bistro in Lexington. It's called Thali and you have your choice of the three entrees. It's a nice way to try different dishes.
