"Frugal Family" is a weekly column dedicated to giving you five great local deals.

This week, Arlington Patch's "Frugal Family" scoured our local sources to come up with great deals on end-of-season grills at Ace Hardware, one-week specials through True Value, Kid's art and other supplies at Play Time, more art specials and online ordering via Artbet, and a new store in town that presents a rare, language learning opportunity.

  • Kid's School Supplies at Play Time Deal: If you're looking for a great place in town to do shopping for arts crafts and other supplies for the tykes that are in kindergarten or pre-school, look no further than Play Time over on 283 Broadway.   • More Art Specials at Artbeat Deal: Not to be out-shined, ArtBeat on 212A Mass. Ave., is another in-town resource for your kid's creative art needs. There new Creative Adventures website is a great place to shop online if you find yourself extra busy during the start of the school year. Good Through: ongoing
  • New Literacy Programs through Apropos Deal: Here's an interesting new business in town. Apropos, on 8 Belknap Street, offers easy-to-learn computer software for those interested in learning Chinese or Japanese. Their website (linked above) offers a basic rundown of the services along with a free brochure to check out this unique opportunity.
