Rematch of Last Year's State Championship Tonight

A rivalry will be renewed at 6:30 p.m. in Lynn.

Today is Wednesday, Dec. 19. Here are five things you need to know:

1.) Rivalry Renewed: In a rematch of last year’s Division 1 state championship game, the Arlington Catholic girls’ ice hockey team will travel to Connery Rink in Lynn to take on Catholic Central foe St. Mary’s of Lynn at 6:30 p.m. tonight. The Cougars topped St. Mary’s 3-1 to take last year’s title, despite losing to them twice during the regular season. Forward Ardieana Rossini and goalie Megan Messuri are back for the Cougars’ title defense. Arlington Catholic is ranked third, St. Mary’s fifth, in ESPNBoston’s most recent rankings.

2.) The Arlington Catholic boys’ ice hockey team will face Central Catholic at 8:20 p.m. tonight at Valley Sports Arena in Concord. The high school’s swim team is at Weston at 4 p.m.

3.) The Arlington High boys’ ice hockey team will host Stoneham at 6 p.m. tonight; the girls’ team will host Stoneham at 8 p.m. The high school’s wrestling team will host Wilmington at 6 p.m., and the boys and girls’ indoor track teams will face Belmont at 4 p.m. Harvard University.

5.) Today should be partly sunny with a high near 45, according to the National Weather Service.
