Today is Wednesday, Jan. 30. Here are five things you need to know:

1.) The Arlington High boys’ hockey team will host Belmont at 4:30 p.m. today at the Ed Burns Arena. The girls’ hockey team will face Belmont right after at 6:20 p.m. The high school’s boys’ basketball team will host Burncoat Senior at 7 p.m., and the wrestling team will be at Reading at 7 p.m. The boys’ and girls’ indoor track teams will compete at Waltham’s Kennedy Middle School at 5 p.m.

2.) In case you missed it, an Arlington man and two from Malden allegedly raped a Curry College student in a residence hall after a dance at the college on Sunday, Jan. 20. Read more.

3.) Sad news was shared at Monday’s Board of Selectmen’s meeting: Judy Pearson, an Arlington resident, lost her 15-month battle with pancreatic cancer on Monday, Jan. 21. Pearson went before the board in November to share her story and spread awareness about the disease. She was 49. Read more.

4.) The Belmont Hill School has donated $85,000 worth of tennis/sport flooring to the Ed Burns Arena. Read more.

5.) Temperatures could reach the mid 50s today, according to the National Weather Service. It’s expected to rain off and on today and into the night.
