Free Energy Audits in Arlington

As the weather turns colder, make your home more energy efficient and help your neighbors stay warm too.

Today is Thursday, Dec. 27. Here are five things you need to know:

1.) From the town: Request a free Mass Save energy assessment before Monday, Dec. 31, and complete the assessment by February 2013 and Sagewell will make a donation to the Arlington Fuel Assistance program. Read more.

2.) From the town: Reuse and Recycle This Holiday Season: This is the time of year when trash barrels can fill with retired toys, clothing or electronics. However, much of what we put in our barrels can be redirected to more useful purposes. This holiday season, Arlington Public Works is asking residents to consider reuse whenever possible and be sure to recycle wrapping paper, cardboard boxes and electronics appropriately. 3.) In case you missed it, there’s a public meeting on leaf blowers Monday, Jan. 14. Read more.

4.) A committee’s been formed to make sure that the Thompson School’s Bill Shea Library is well-stocked when it opens next fall. Read more.

5.) It’s expected to rain today with a high near 43, according to the National Weather Service. The rain may change over to snow at night.
