Five Things: Mass Ave Corridor Project Open House Wednesday

Today is Tuesday, April 3. Here are five things you need to know:

1. It should be a nice spring day, with sunny skies and temperatures reaching 56 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. The overnight low is 38 degrees.

2. A public open-house-style meeting on the Mass Ave Corridor Project is set for Wednesday, April 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the cafeteria. At the meeting, the 75 percent design plans recently submitted to the state Department of Transportation (MassDOT) for their review will be on display for residents and business owners to drop in, take a look and ask questions, according to the town. The plans show new landscape and streetscape details and a street alignment change at Linwood Street that makes the eastbound (toward Cambridge) direction two lanes for the entire project. The updates plans can also be viewed online.

3. Arlington’s Sean Dorrance Kelly, an author and chair of Harvard’s philosophy department, will discuss his New York Times bestseller,  at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the  Commons. The talk is one of Arlington Community Education’s “Tuesday Night Conversations” this spring, which are co-sponsored by . 4. The spring sports season started Friday but really gets underway today, as 10 local teams are in action.
