Crochet Club for Teens, Public Skating, Farmers Market, Day-Long Bookstore Party and Church Picnic

It's Thursday and the weekend is just around the corner. Are you still looking for plans? Here are a few ideas:

 

  • Where/When: , 700 Massachusetts Ave., Friday, July 8, 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Why Go: Those who say crochet is lame don't know crochet. Come down to the Robbins Library to join in with other weaving and yarning nuts.
  • Price: Free
  • Where/When: , 422 Summer St., Ed Burns Arena, Friday, July 8, 7-9 p.m.
  • Why Go: Only in the month of July, head down to the Arlington Recreation Department in the Ed Burns Arena for public skating and blading. Roller Hockey is also going down, call Dave Cunningham at 781-316-3882 for more info.
  • Price: $3/child, $5/adult, $5/rental
  • Where/When: , Church St & Waterfield Rd, Winchester. Saturday, July 9, 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Swing into Winchester for a stellar farmers market with dozens of fresh food stands. This week features the music of local band, Muse Stew, artist Debbie Taylor Smity's work on display, a cooking and nutrition demo by Robin Cohen and much more.
  • Price: Free to attend, varies by vendor
  • Where/When: , 89 Thoreau St, Concord. Saturday, July 9, 10:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Why Go: Come celebrate the release of the latest in the series of popular children's book series, Bear's Birthday. Music and other entertainment by Mister Vic. Stories, cake, costumes and whole mess of fun for the kids.
  • Price: Free-$5 depending on activities
  • Where/When: , 74 Pleasant St. Sunday, July 10, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Why Go: A good, old-fashioned  picnic with fun for the whole family. Soft drinks and activities for prizes will be going on. In case of rain, picnic will be inside the church.
  • Price: Free
