Beauty and the Beast Play and Children's Author in Town

Family-oriented events happening in and around Arlington this week.

This week there are lots of free family events including: Stories and Songs at the Robbins, another Sing-A-Long at the Edith M. Fox Library, "Beauty and the Beast" at Arlington High School, Debbie and Friends at the Regent Theatre and a Children's author stopping in nearby.

Why Go: Join the Robbins Librarians for stories and songs at Robbins Library. Stories for ages two and up.

Why Go: Head over to the Edith M. Fox Library for a great, early morning sing-a-long. A great way to kick off the day with your kids. And, there's lots more to explore at the library!

Price: Free!

Where/When: , 869 Massachusetts Ave., Friday, March 25 at 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: The Arlington High School Department of Performing Arts Production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Music by Lyrics by Book by Alan Menken Howard Ashman & Tim Rice Linda Wolverton. Originally Directed by Robert Jess Roth. If you miss it today, the play will also go off the same time on Sunday.

Price: $16/adult $10/child.

Where/When: , 7 Medford St., Saturday, March 26 at 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: Join Debbie Cavalier and her band for “More Story Songs and Sing Alongs” and get ready for some sing-along, dance-along, and laugh-along family fun in this rockin’ musical journey through classic kids’ tales and original songs!

Price: $10/adult $8/child.

Where/When: , 1764 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington, March 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why Go: You'll have to go all the way down Mass. Ave. into Lexington, but it will be worth it to go and meet the award-winning author and illustrator team for a book signing and Q&A session of "There's a Wolf at the Door" and "There's a Princess in the Palace."
