Arlington based American Alarm and Communications Inc. today announced it has completed the acquisition of Sentinel Security Systems of Worcester, which has provided security services to homes and businesses in Central Massachusetts since 1995.
The Sentinel operations will be merged with American Alarm’s Central Massachusetts facility in Auburn. Sentinel customers’ security systems will be monitored by American Alarm’s 24-hour Security Command Center. “We welcome the Sentinel customers and look forward to serving their security needs for many years to come,” said Louis Sampson, Chief Financial Officer at American Alarm.
Fran Cahill, the founder and owner of Sentinel Security, will remain with American Alarm to continue serving his customers and the merged operations. “The security industry is advancing rapidly with new technologies and services. So as I looked to the future, it became clear to me that this was the right time to begin a transition that would ensure my customers had access to the services they need. I knew that American Alarm was the right partner for the future,” Cahill said.

Sentinel Security serves approximately four hundred residential and commercial customers in Central Massachusetts. There will be no disruption of security or monitoring services because of the acquisition.
