What Should Go In the Old Audio Video Plus Space in East Arlington?

In our "Visions for Vacancies" series, we ask you what you'd like to see in vacant buildings or lots around Arlington.

Each month Arlington Patch presents a new vacant building or lot and asks you to tell us what you think would be the best use for it.

Forget what zone it's in, setback regulations and all the other zoning jargon that puts most people to sleep. If you had your way, what would you like to see there? What would be the best use for the community?

This month's vacancy is the old Audio Video Plus space in East Arlington, at 159 Mass. Ave. (the corner of Mass. Ave. and Marathon Street).

What do you think should go in this storefront? Let us know by posting a comment below.

Check your facts, Tim. As this thread shows, I have not been in "hiding." As an independent journalist, I speak for myself and try to represent news to the public fairly. Further, I posted no names of special-ed children, as you allege. Please provide documentation for your claim. Here's mine: I did post, briefly, one year ago, a map distributed by the administration that indicated the locations of special-ed families. There were no names, and I apologized publicly. You can find the story and apology at YourArlington.com. I have not hidden any of this, but you continue to hide your last name. If you respond with your full, real name, I can comment further, if need be. Meanwhile, this thread is how an available location in East Arlington might be used. Suggestions have been good ones. I encourage the public to make their ideas known to the person who might something about them -- Alan Manoian, the town's economic-development coordinator. He works in the planning office. I would love to see a nice hang-out cafe that is not a Sturbucks or DD.......maybe with a kid section! Or a restaurant for kids!!! Michelle

Michelle: Head over to Jam N' Java --- very kid friendly bakery. And Craig does a great job of offering an alternative to the massive chains...

Dagg's is across the street. Even better, Christo's is a block away.

Clearly we need another bank or a cvs (NOT)! Why do decent human beings choose this forum to spit hate at each other? This is not the 6th grade people...please. How about a high end consignment shop? Clothes, toys, household goods?
