Wegmans is Hiring 600 Employees for Burlington Location

The supermarket chain is accepting applications for full-time positions.

Wegmans Food Markets has begun recruitment for full-time positions for its Burlington location, which is expected to open in the fall.

Wegmans says it’s looking for full-time positions from entry-level management positions to culinary professionals for the store that will be part of the new 3rd Ave. project. When it opens, the market is expected to be the chain’s third Massachasutts location. The only one currently open is in Northborough, but the Newton location is expected to open this spring.

“Although our Burlington store won’t open until fall, we need to start hiring early because our employees receive some of the most in-depth product, customer service and culinary training in the industry,” said Marybeth Stewart, Wegmans Human Resources Manager for New England. “We are excited to welcome new employees to the Wegmans family in Burlington and are proud to offer such perks as flexible scheduling, robust job training and competitive pay and benefits.”

The Burlington Wegmans will be a 135,000 square-foot supermarket that includes a Market Café with indoor and outdoor seating.

Wegmans has 83 stores in New York, Pennyslivan, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland and Massachusetts and it has been named one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For by FORTUNE magazine for 17 consecutive years.

“I speak from experience when I say that Wegmans is a great place to build a career, and because we are expanding and opening new stores, there are opportunities to advance,” said Burlington Store Manager Kevin Russell. “It was so exciting to help bring the first Wegmans to Massachusetts in Northborough, where I was store manager. I am now looking forward to helping grow the company’s presence in the state and provide customers in the Burlington area with a great Wegmans experience.”

Those interested in full-time positions may apply online at www.wegmans.com/careers or call 1-877-WEGMANS (934-6267) for more information. Interviews are conducted by appointment only and applications are not available or accepted at the construction site.
