Restaurant News: An Opening and a Closing in Somerville

Caribbean food is coming to Somerville, but you'll have to get your omelets elsewhere.

After the Sept. 16 opening of Kirkland Tap & Trotter and the Oct. 8 opening of Sarma, yet another Somerville restaurant is set to open in mid-October.

According to Eater Boston, Some 'Ting Nice Caribbean Restaurant, at 561 McGrath Highway, will open on Oct. 18.

The restaurant's Facebook page lists one aspect of the menu, a $6.99 lunch special of chicken (jerk, stew, fried with pineapple and ginger or curry) with rice and peas or white rice, plantains, and steam veggies or garden salad.

The restaurant, originally slated to open in August, will add to the international culinary flavors of East Somerville.

On the other site of Somerville, a local breakfast and brunch place, the Broken Yolk, at 136 College Ave., near the Powderhouse Rotary, appears to have closed.

Boston Restaurant Talk says the place has been locked and paper is covering the windows. Also, the phone number is out of service.
