New Arlington Burger Place Now Open

The burger and hot dog joint slash ice cream parlor will open at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20.

Retro Burger & Ice Cream is opening at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20.

The restaurant’s owner, Arlington resident Bill Maund, posted the news as an announcement on Arlington Patch Friday night. It’ll stay open until 10 p.m.

The burger and hot dog joint slash ice cream parlor replaces Cakes Bakery & Cafe at 795 Mass. Ave., between Mill Street and Arlington High School.

Maund, who’s lived in town for 19 years and raised his kids here, moved his business from Cape Cod’s West Yarmouth. He opened the business at 44 Route 28 in West Yarmouth in 2010.

Retro Burger’s menu features a variety of burgers ($8 or $6 depending on the size) and hot dogs ($6), as well as Richardson’s ice cream.
