Is a New Cafe Replacing Jam’n Java?

See what's going on at the prime spot in Arlington Center.

A new cafe is planning to take over the Jam’n Java space in Arlington Center, according to the latest selectmen’s agenda.

Emily Shea and Mark Ostow, of Blue October LLC, are applying for an operating license for “Kick Stand Cafe” for the space at 594 Mass. Ave.

On the selectmen’s agenda, the address is listed as the “former Carberry’s/Jam’n Java.” However, Jam’n Java was still open Thursday night.

Not many details were available Thursday night, but Ostow is listed as the owner of Cafe Zing, which is in Porter Square Books in Cambridge, on his Twitter profile, and Shea appears to have some affiliation with the cafe as well.

The selectmen meet at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30, in Town Hall’s Selectmen’s Chambers.
