Arlington Whole Foods Going for Operating License Monday Night

The grocery-store chain is on the Board of Selectmen's agenda.

The Arlington Whole Foods, slated for the former Johnnie’s Foodmaster site at 808 Mass. Ave., will go before the Board of Selectmen Monday night for its common victualler license, which allows a business to serve food.

Although the license is most likely a formality at this point, we would expect to hear an update from a Whole Foods representative at the meeting, which starts at 7:15 p.m. in the Selectmen’s Chambers on the second floor of Town Hall (see agenda).

The last we heard, which was fairly recently, the grocery store was planning a mid-September opening.
