If you’re in need of groceries – for a Memorial Day cookout, perhaps – in Arlington Heights is the place to be, according to our readers.

The popular Massachusetts Avenue food store topped , edging out , 22 votes, to win our most recent Best of Patch Readers’ Choice contest, for best grocery/convenience store in town.

D’Agostino’s, , features a wide variety of items, including your typical groceries; subs, prepared foods and catering trays; jarred peppers, olives and olive oils; and fresh fruits and vegetables, and locally baked breads and cookies.

“The store is CLEAN, and the food is really GOOD … “ Samuel Stepanis wrote, along with his perfect five-star review.

Readers also praised Trader Joe’s.

“Trader Joe’s has great prices, more healthy choices and an interesting variety of foods, with new things added often,” Lis Adams wrote with her five-star review. “The store also has a fun atmosphere, and it is well managed. The people who work there are friendly, polite and helpful. It is a pleasure to shop there!”
