Alta Brigham Square Apartment Complex Sells

See how much the 116-apartment complex went for.

The Alta Brigham Square apartment complex on Mill Street has sold, roughly a year after it opened.

Intercontinental Real Estate Corp. has bought the 116-apartment complex at the old Brigham’s Ice Cream headquarters site from Wood Partners for $50.5 million, according to the Banker & Tradesman.

Before developing it, Wood Partners, the largest multifamily housing developer in the nation, purchased the four-acre site at 30-50 Mill St. for $5.6 million from Cambridge Savings Bank, which foreclosed on the property in August 2008.

The old 85,000-square-foot Brigham’s headquarters was demolished in the fall of 2011.

The new development is 135,000 square feet and includes 18 studios, 35 one-bedroom units and 63 two-bedroom units, as well as amenities, like a fitness center, and a separate building with 3,090 square feet of retail space, which, in part, is expected to be an urgent care clinic run by Steward Health Care.
