6 Arlington Restaurants Caught Serving to Underage Patrons

See which six are facing alcohol-compliance issues with the Board of Selectmen.

Six Arlington restaurants are in trouble for serving underage patrons.

The restaurants are:

  • Manna House, 9A Medford St. (second offense)
  • Not Your Average Joe’s, 645 Mass. Ave.
  • Sabzi, 352A Mass. Ave. (second offense)
  • Shanghai Village Restaurant, 434-436 Mass. Ave.
  • Sweet Chili, 470-472 Mass. Ave. (second offense)
  • Szechuan’s Dumpling, 1360 Mass. Ave.

The restaurant’s owners will go before the Board of Selectmen Monday night, according to the board’s agenda.

In the past, police have sent in underage customers to try and buy an alcoholic drink without an ID. If they’re served, they leave the bar, without consuming the drink, and report the incident to an awaiting officer.

Manna House, Sabzi and Sweet Chili all received a one-day alcohol license suspension for their first offense.

Selectmen chairman Daniel Dunn has taken a vocal stance against restaurant’s serving to underage customers, so it’ll be interesting to see what he has to say on Monday.
