'The Man with the Guitar" Film Festival

Documentary filmmakers and musicians unite to honor Jimi Hendrix at the Regent Theatre this weekend. "The Man with the Guitar" film festival will feature five films about the prolific guitarist, in full concert surround-sound. A community blood drive takes place on Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Arlington High School Blue Gym, 869 Mass. Ave. Walk in or make an appointment at redcrossblood.org or 1-800-RED-CROSS.

AHS Football vs. Burlington Saturday Night

The Arlington High School football team faces off against Burlington High School in its first home game of the season.  The Spy Ponders will look to build on last week's hard-earned win on the road. Kickoff is at 7 p.m.  

Arlington-Lexington Democratic Campaign HQ Open House

On Sunday, the new Arlington-Lexington Democratic Campaign headquarters welcomes local residents for an open house from 4-6 p.m. U.S. Rep. Ed Markey, Massachusetts Democratic Chair John Walsh, and Arlington state legislators Sen. Ken Donnelly, Rep. Will Brownsberger, and Rep. Sean Garballey will all be on hand to speak with residents. Attorney General Martha Coakley will also stop by to greet Arlington constituents. The new headquarters is located at 1343 Massachusetts Ave. in Arlington Heights and is accessible by public transit.
