Come visit the Jason Russell House and Smith Museum, the center of Arlington's history. The Russell house dates to the 18th century, and bears the scars of the bloodiest fighting of April 19th, 1775. Filled with furnishings and decorative arts from Arlington's families through the centuries, the Russell House tells the story of the founding of the village--formerly Menotomy--and its significant role in the Revolution. The Smith Museum shows art and objects from Arlington families and institutions from the 19th and 20th centuries, and tells stories of immigration, change, innovation, hard work and success.
