Contestant with Arlington Ties Voted Off ‘America’s Got Talent’

Despite the exit, she received high praise from the judges.

Deanna DellaCioppa, the daughter of the owners of the recently closed Nicola Pizza House in Arlington Heights, was voted off NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” last week.

DellaCioppa, a 39-year-old Winchester native who now lives in California, sang Foreigners’ “I Want to Know What Love Is” in the quarterfinal round (performance above) at Radio City Music Hall in New York City but failed to make the semifinals, despite a standing ovation from three of the judges and much praise from all four.

“I think you nailed it tonight girl, I think you really nailed it,” judge Heidi Klum said. “You showed America what you can do … I hope they’re going to vote for you.”
