On Monday, we asked you about your commute and Arlington’s rush-hour traffic.
Gabriel Teninbaum, on Twitter, pointed out one of Arlington’s most well-known problem areas, Lake Street.
He wrote that during both the a.m. and p.m. commutes it can take 30-40 minutes to get from Route 2 to Mass. Ave., or vice versa – all because people are trying to avoid the Alewife area.
Rick Cianci Jr. and Mark Tuttle, on Facebook, said that Mass. Ave. is the worst.
“Any drive along Mass. Ave. at nearly any time the sun is up is going to be miserable,” Tuttle wrote. “The town has become so concerned about keeping commuters out of Arlington and off Mass. Ave. that it has forgotten that residents of Arlington need to commute.”
Scott Loring also noted Route 2’s traffic woes on Facebook.
We thought of a few more of Arlington’s worst rush-hour spots:
- Summer Street in the evening, from Summer Street Field to Mystic Street
- Mass. Ave. near Appleton Street, when Ottoson students are going in or out
- Pleasant Street
Where do you think Arlington’s worst rush-hour traffic is?
