Labor Day is observed on Monday, Sept. 2, in 2013. Here’s a handy list of what’s open and closed on the holiday. Arlington businesses, please leave your holiday store hours in the comments below.

  • Arlington Recreation Office
  • Arlington DPW Administrative Offices and Inspectional Services
  • Arlington Public Schools
  • Post offices
  • Most banks
Open (at owner’s discretion)
  • Retail stores
  • Supermarkets
  • Convenience stores
  • Liquor stores
  • Bars and restaurants

The MBTA will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Trash and recycling will not be collected on the holiday, and there will be a one-day delay the rest of the week, with Friday’s pickup happening Saturday. For missed pickups, call JRM directly at 1-800-323-4285.
