PHOTOS: 30 Lasting Images of the East Arlington Microburst

The powerful storm rolled through East Arlington one year ago Thursday, July 18.

On a Wednesday evening in mid-July in the summer of 2012, East Arlington halted to a standstill as a powerful microburst ripped through town, downing numerous trees and power lines and flooding streets.

Miraculously, no one was hurt.

After the storm, East Arlington residents showed the true spirit of a community, as neighbors helped neighbors to clear debris (despite differing opinions on the Mass. Ave. redesign) and residents assisted the town by clearing storm drains, marking downed wires and reporting power outages.
