Hydrant Flushing Begins Thursday, Expect Low Pressure, Discolored Water

The town will begin flushing hydrants and checking street valves as part of its annual maintenance Thursday, Sept. 12, and continue the work through the end of November.
The work will mostly be done Monday-Saturday, 3-11 p.m.
During the flushing, residents may experience temporary low water pressure or discolored water.

If you experience discolored water in your home, it is not unsafe, according to the town. However, you should run your faucets until the water runs clear – do not run your hot water or do laundry while the water is discolored. If problems persist, contact the town’s Department of Public Works, 781-316-3301.
