Coyote Sightings on the Rise in Arlington

See where they've been spotted.

The town warned residents Monday that coyote sightings have been on the rise.

Coyotes have been spotted near: Montrose Avenue, Orlando Avenue, Winthrop Road (the three roads are north of Summer Street, across from Scutra), Cotter Hill and Cheswick Road (south of Spy Pond). However, other areas are likely to be affected as well, according to the town.

Pet owners should not allow cats or small dogs outside unattended, according to the town, and if you feed your pets or strays outside, the town says you should bring the food in immediately after they are done eating.

Residents are being asked to secure all trash with tight fitting lids.

To report a coyote sighting, call the Animal Control officer at 781-316-3950 and leave a message with location, date and time of the sighting.
