Accident at Crosswalk Water St and Robbins Library

Accident with injury today around 3:30pm at the crosswalk between the Robbins Library and Water St.  

This is a dangerous crosswalk that violates MassDOT standards (crossing Water St. diagonally), at a narrow point along Mass Ave with poor sight lines for vehicles coming east and impossible for drivers traveling the inside lane to see pedestrians in the crosswalk.  

This crosswalk should be removed and pedestrians should be urged to walk the half block to the mechanized crosswalk at Rt. 60 or the crosswalk in front of Town Hall that has much better sight lines for approaching vehicles.
