$700 for Just A Minute

The third season of the Just A Minute Festival and Arlington Community Media invite filmmakers, computer game players or anyone with a cell phone, and give them a give them a chance to win cash for their creation.  Productions one minute or less, made with any media, device or genre can be uploaded to the website www.JustAMinute.tv until 11:59PM on September 30th to compete for prizes in this unique worldwide event.

The festival’s founder, veteran Hollywood producer Don Daniel, want to give everyone a chance to tell a story, document an event or create art and share it with the world through this online, viewer’s choice film festival. Once submitted, the films will be streamed through the website and viewers are encouraged to watch the films and help choose the winner by voting on their favorites. Not only do viewers enjoy films from around the world, once a week, the Festival gives $20 to a random viewer just to say thanks for helping to choose the winner. Voting ends December 1st and the film with the highest number of votes, wins the grand prize of $500.

Arlington Community Media wants to encourage Arlington participants and is offering $200 in additional prize money for productions from Arlington. Although the Festival was designed as a local event, entries have come from over 25 countries and the Festival’s website has been visited close to two million times, from over 100 countries.

There’s no entry fee as this program is supported, in part, by grants from the Winchester Cultural Council, the Salem Cultural Council, the Lexington Arts Council and the Billerica Arts Council all local agencies that are supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
