One of Arlington’s most important non-profit organizations for women and families facing homelessness or abuse will receive a boost this year from one of the county’s leading real estate agencies. 

            Doorways for Women and Families will be the beneficiary of the annual Cocktail Reception and Fundraiser sponsored by Keller Williams Realty of Arlington. The agency hopes to raise $50,000 to help the organization cover a shortfall in funding. 

            The cocktail reception and fundraiser called Bridging the Gap will be Thursday, Nov. 8 from 6-9 p.m. at the Clarendon Ballroom, 3185 Wilson Blvd. The event features dinner by bites, drinks, and a silent and live auction with 100 items.  Master of Ceremonies will be WJLA Meteorologist Steve Rudin, with special guests Congressman Jim Moran and Miss District of Columbia of 2011 Ashley Boalch. Jazz vocalist Ayo Awosika will perform. The public is invited and can buy tickets by going to http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/279778. Tickets are $75 each or $125 for two in advance, and $85 each and $150 for two at the door.
