They first spoke to a man who said he was driving toward Medford Street on Hamlet when the woman, who was heading toward Mystic Valley Parkway on Palmer, ran her stop sign. He said the woman was traveling at about 30 mph and he had no time to stop before the vehicles collided.

The man told police he was not injured.

The woman told police that she did stop at the stop sign but did not see the man’s vehicle coming. A witness, however, corroborated the man’s account.

The woman was taken to the hospital with head and neck pain. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.
