What’s Arlington missing? Let us know by posting a comment below.

In 2012, Arlington got two new boutiques, Arlington Centered and Batiz, and two new eateries, Punjabi Tadka and the Savory Plate, among other additions.

In 2013, a new gluten/wheat free bakery and grill and tavern are already set to open, but we want to know:

What business would you like to see open in Arlington in 2013? What’s Arlington missing? A bar, perhaps? Let us know by posting a comment below.

an attractive, comfy, non-chain, spacious, sit down cafe, with second hand books, or book exchange, newspapers, creative and healthful food, smoothies with art on the walls and performance space. Something like Madrona tree but much more spacious. Something like Jam n' Java but with a different, more veg friendly menu.

I would like to see Gold Gyms replaced with a new state of the art gym that would have a pool.

Ditto on the salad bar. They are hard to find. Although we may just have one when Whole Foods comes to town.

I would like to see a news office open in Arlington so people can walk in and talk to the editor or deliver ads. The office would have the name YourArlington on it. As a 23-year Arlington resident, I have managed this online site for more than six years from my home, but I think a town office with a sign would aid the direct connection to residents. The town has not had a news office like this since June 1997, when The Advocate left town.

So Bob, are you saying you want an office at town hall for your blog? And are you suggesting the taxpayers of Arlington pay your rent?

I would love to see more late-night shopping options. A multi-vendor antique mall, a local art gallery, a dessert place, a bookstore open late. Even just a once a month Arlington Center Night Out with restaurant specials and late-night shopping would do wonders to revitalize and rejuvinate the neighborhood and possibly bring in people and shopping dollars from neighboring towns.

A medical pot dispensary located closest to the precincts that most supported having them! While not a casino, this would bring more visitors than a new $20,000 historic district sign motif, and ones more sure to stay for dinner and see the pretty things in our gift shops!

I would like a cozy knitting shop that is open evenings and offers classes and a place for knitters to meet up. I'd also like a quiet restaurant that features a small-plate, international tapas-style menu, and a nice wine list, along with small-portioned desserts.

For the Golds Gym I think they should be thrown out of the town of Arlington. Try to cancel your membership! They harass you. Lie to you. Someone that does this to the residence of this town should be gone

Isn't a tavern supposed to be opening in the Hollywood Video space? I believe the Selectmen approved the tavern request.

A couple of low rent dive bahhs with questionable bahh food with peanut shells all ovah the floor. Right beside the theaters. You know the one's everyone can afford on a Tuesday night... Allow folks to toke up in the baloney after a few cheap cocktails, with disco of course on the dollahh machine Definitely pack them in. Why should Somerville & Cambridge have all the fun. You can knit there and sip Irish coffees. Park in the Whole foods lot, I'm sure they won't mind. Then ovahh to Annies house to pick up the kids.
