The Winchester High boys’ hockey team beat Arlington 3-0 Saturday at O’Brien Rink in Woburn, but it’s not the big Middlesex League win that has people talking.

It’s Winchester forward Nolan Redler’s post-game interview with ESPNBoston.com’s Scott Barboza.

“I just saw him go to the net, I said, ‘I gotta throw a little fettuccine alfredo out there,’ ended up hitting him in the butt and going in so, you know, it’s all you can do at this point,” Redler told Barboza on camera. “I mean it wasn’t the prettiest goal, but it got there. It all looks the same on the score sheet.”

Because of Redler’s “swag,” the interview was picked up by the popular blog Barstool Sports on Monday and now has more than 38,000 views on YouTube in the last 24 hours.

Winchester, the No. 12 team in ESPNBoston.com’s state rankings, remained undefeated (6-0-2) with the win, while Arlington, the site’s No. 19 team, fell to 5-2-3.

It’s been a good start to the season for Arlington hockey teams, as the Arlington Catholic boys’ team is 4-1-4 and No. 15 in ESPNBoston.com’s rankings; the defending Division 1 state champion AC girls’ team is 7-1-1 and No. 6 in the site's rankings; and the Arlington High girls’ team is 5-4.

The Arlington High boys’ team is back on the ice at 6 p.m. Wednesday, when they host Burlington at Ed Burns Arena.
