Venture Out From Arlington!

Revisit your younger days when you hopped in the car, started the engine and drove off in search of something fun. Patch Passport maps out where you can Venture Out on a 15-, 30- or 60-minute drive from your home in Arlington.

In the Venture Out portion of the Patch Passport series, we show you some of the best places you can visit in less than a tank of gas.

Believe it or not, you actually don't have to go that far to feel like you're miles and miles away from Arlington. If you’re looking to find a sandy beach surrounded by tall trees, there’s no need to leave town. Reservoir Beach is the perfect spot to bring the family and escape the heat.

Spectacle Island consists of 105 acres, with a marina, visitor’s center, snack bar, two sandy beaches and five miles of walking trails that lead to the crest of a 157 foot hill. This is the highest spot in Boston Harbor and offers a 360-degree view of theharbor and the city.

The park opened in 1984, and has quickly become one of the most visited attractions on the Seacoast thanks to Geronimo and other popular water slides, a massive wave pool, Aventure River, and other rides.
