Two Hollywood Movies Filming Near Arlington

See what stars are in the area.

Sandra Bullock’s new movie, “The Heat,” will be filming near Cambridge’s Inman Square today, Friday and Monday, according to Somerville Patch.

The buddy-cop comedy also stars Melissa McCarthy of “Bridesmaids” fame, Kaitlin Olson from “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” and Michael Rapaport.

The Cambridge scenes will take place at a local hospital, a city spokesperson told Patch. The movie has been filming around Boston for about the last month.

Producers of “The Heat” are looking for extras to film a club scene in Boston on Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 14 and 15.

‘Labor Day’

Over in Winchester, the new Jason Reitman movie, “Labor Day,” is being filmed at a house on Cabot Street, which is just about a mile from the Arlington border. Crews were at the home Wednesday, and Winchester High School is being used as a staging area, according to Winchester Patch.

The drama has a star-studded cast that includes Kate Winslet, Tobey Maguire, Josh Brolin and James Van Der Beek. The director Reitman is known for his hits “Up in the Air” and “Juno.”
