The Savory Plate Adding Outdoor Seating

The Arlington Heights "gourmet-food place" received the go-ahead Monday from the Board of Selectmen.

The Arlington Heights “gourmet-food place,” which , will have six small café tables with two chairs each along its storefront at 1346 Massachusetts Ave., the Savory Plate’s Jonathan Lyons told the board.

“We thought it would add something really nice to the block,” he said.

The sidewalk in front of the Savory Plate is about 7.5 feet wide, and the tables will be about 2 feet wide, Lyons said.

Board chairman Kevin Greeley commented that it appears the new business is doing well.

“We’ve had very good luck so far,” Lyons said.

Lyons and his wife Caitlin run the Savory Plate’s day-to-day operations, while Caitlin’s parents, Ken and Jennifer McCord, handle the business end.
