State Rep. Carlos Henriquez Accused of Assaulting Woman in Arlington
Prosecutors believe the alleged assault began in Arlington shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday. Henriquez, D-Dorchester, has called the allegations "completely untrue."
State Rep. Carlos Henriquez, of Dorchester, was arrested early Sunday morning near Forsyth Street in Boston, after allegedly choking and punching a 23-year-old female college student while driving around the city.
The first-term Democrat pleaded not guilty to charges of assault, kidnapping, witness intimidation and larceny under $250 Monday in Roxbury District Court, according to the Boston Globe. He called the allegations “completely untrue,” the report states. He was released on $1,000 cash bail.
Arlington Connection
The assault charge against Henriquez, 35, is being referred to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office, according to CBS Boston, as prosecutors believe the assault took place in Arlington, shortly after Henriquez picked the woman up from her mother’s Arlington home at 2 a.m. Sunday.
According to the Globe story, Henriquez wanted to meet with the woman to discuss their relationship. The woman told police that after Henriquez picked her up, their conversation heated up and then he drove around Boston for two hours, choking and punching her and forcibly keeping her in the car, the article states.
The woman told police that she eventually jumped out of the moving vehicle on Forsyth Street in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood, according to the Globe. Police observed scratches and bruises on the victim. She declined medical attention.

This guy thinks because he has a title he can get away with anything. He is no different from the guy next door. He obviously had some serious issues and has no respect for his job or women. He needs to be fired for is behavior, hes an embarrassment to the city he represents and the people who elected him into office. She should press charges on him, he should not get away with this. He's a woman beater.

lie down with dogs and you get flees! In my day, the 60's, THUGS didn't come into Arlington. We had our share of difficulties and tragedies but they were crimes of passion. Today, these thugs say and do whatever without anyone speaking up.... they run for office and foolish voters put them in office.... then, they wake up to find out the THUG is riding around in the wee hours of the morning beating on women. WAKE UP voters.

Peggy - which Arlington did you grow up in? The one I grew up in was pretty rough and tumble. I remember an MBTA bus being destroyed returning from a hockey game at the Boston Arena. (we lost). I remember a prominent athlete renowned for biting someone's ear off. (he was sent to the Marines). I remember rumbles. I remember motorcycle clubs at Spy Pond and fights with the police. I loved old Arlington, but it is a far more gentile place today. Let's be real here...

Even if the charges are true it would put Carlos is good stead with fellow Democrats. At the state level how many are in prison now? It is so easy to lose track. Let's make it three at Wilkerson, Turner and DiMasi. Tierney's wife if out - that's good.

Well what I think what Peggy is trying to say is Arlington was a nice " Irish Catholic " town , where a certain element wasn't to visible. Heck I remember playing football on the early 80's and having my parents endure hearing racial terms everytime stepped onto the field because I was the only minority on the team . How Arlington has changed .So see Peggy is in a time warp. She remembers Arlington as the old days when the " special kids" couldn't have possibly done that.. All I know is the " Prince in the Prius " is laughing at this Rep. For getting charged in Arlington and he got away with his crime in Arlington ...
