State Police Announce Sobriety Checkpoint

Middlesex County will be subject to sobriety checkpoints Friday and Saturday.

Colonel Marian J. McGovern, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police, announced that a "Sobriety Checkpoint" will be implemented by the Massachusetts State Police on a Secondary State Highway starting on Friday.

The State Police hope to further educate drivers and strengthen the public's awareness about driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

The checkpoints will be operated during varied hours and the selection of vehicles will not be arbitrary and should not encumber other motorists on the roads.
