The Arlington High girls' basketball team saw their postseason chances dim a bit Friday as they ended up on the short end of a 50-33 score against host Belmont.
Arlington is currently 5-8 with seven games left in the season.
Arlington kept it close in the first quarter, trailing 10-8, as Gracie Carter (finishing with 9 points) and Kathryn McGonagle (6 points) shared the scoring duties with four points each including a three from Carter.
But Belmont (9-7) stretched the lead in the second quarter, outscoring the Spy Ponders, 20-10, to lead 30-18 at the half.
Mallory DeFeo led the way for Arlington with 10 points.
