Snowfall Predictions for Arlington

How much snow will Friday's nor'easter 'Nemo' bring?

By now you probably know that the National Weather Service has issued a “Blizzard Warning” for all of eastern Massachusetts, including Arlington.

The nor’easter, aka “Nemo,” is expected to start with some snow showers Friday morning and pick up with heavy snow Friday evening into Saturday morning. Winds are expected to be about 15-20 mph Friday afternoon and 22-29 mph Friday night with gusts as high as 65 mph, according to the National Weather Service. The daytime high is 32, the overnight low around 22.

But what you really want to know is how much snow is Arlington going to get? Here are a handful of predictions as of 1:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8.

Just got back from Market Basket. The lines for the registers began at the back of the store at the meat section, across the back as far as the fruit section, then did a loop (still in the back of the store. A store employee was at the end of each aisle, directing people onto an aisle. We then worked our way up the aisle in line, and were assigned to the back a line leading to a register. I had to park down by the Chateau. I can't imagine what it will be like tonight !!! I was determined Stop & Shop or Whole Foods was not going to get my business, just because there is a storm coming. I will not be forced to pay their ridiculous prices. I would imagine there were a lot of Arlington residents there.
