And one other point. Convoys of power workers from CANADA are on their way. And convoys from Florida and the Midwest are coming to restore service. What is wrong with local power workers restoring service in this area? This is how the rate payers are getting shafted by power companies. We pay big rates for outside help. Where are our local power company workers? This should outrage you.

NSTAR, and other utilities, outsource our American jobs to India, Pakistan, and the Phillipines, you know, call center jobs. Jobs that me, you, our wives, sons and daughters should have. These countries hate us. And we send work to them?
Nstar starts importing workers from Canada to restore service after the storm. This is importing labor from foreign countries to do our work. We are importing labor from Canada to do our jobs? American people need these jobs.
What if they brought workers in from Mexico? Would that make you mad?
The american workers in other parts of the country should have been brought in, before any foreign workers.

Are the Canadian workers required to leave any payroll taxes when they work here? I don't know, but my guess is no. They clean up and take their money home to Canada. I am TOTALLY opposed to this .

The utility companies have an agreement with Canada and Canada with the United States to assist with such emergencys . Why is the town using private tree contractors? If your so worried about Americans working take a good look at one of those contractors , they use central Americans for their labor . Probably paying these minimum wage ..
