The 3rd Annual Running with Friends 5K, put on by the Friends of the Arlington Council on Aging, drew 269 participants Sunday morning.

Runners left from Arlington Town Hall, swung around Thorndike Field and then ran past Spy Pond on their way back to the finish line at the Senior Center.

Here are the top three male and female finishers:

Male

1. Zack Schwartz, 15:39
2. Frank Klemovitch, 17:21
3. Dave Hannon, 17:22

Female

1. Sarah Phillips, 20:46
2. Mayumi Kearns, 22:34
3. Elizabeth Paget, 22:55

And how about a shout-out to Arlington’s relatively-new town manager, Adam Chapdelaine, who placed an impressive 26th overall and eighth in his age group.

If you missed this 5K or ran it but still have the racing bug, the Walter V. Moynihan Town Day Road Race is this coming Saturday, Sept. 15, at Arlington High School. You can register now for the 2.7-mile race, which starts at 8:30 a.m. Proceeds benefit Arlington Youth Activities.
