Road Work on Oakland Avenue to Begin Thursday

The work by National Grid is expected to last until the end of November.

 

Today is Tuesday, Sept. 11. Here are five things you need to know:

1. Today should be sunny with a high near 70, according to the National Weather Service.

2. From the town: National Grid Work on Oakland Avenue Starts Thursday, Sept. 13. On Thursday, National Grid will commence work associated with the replacement of a gas main in Oakland Avenue, located between Park Avenue and Appleton Street. The work is anticipated to last until the end of November. During the hours of construction, between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., travel along Oakland Avenue will be restricted and parking restrictions may be implemented. Pedestrians and students walking to school should be aware of the construction activity and pay attention to pedestrian and work site signs. Police details officers will provide traffic management and pedestrian crossing controls as required. If you have any questions, please contact National Grid at 781-907-2205.

4. The Park and Recreation Commission will meet at 7 p.m. tonight in the Arlington Senior Center (see agenda).
