Need a best gift shop or specialty store and best florist.

Ah, I really like the best gift shop or specialty store idea, but unfortunately, it's too late to add. Feel free to share your favorite here regardless. As for best florist, that was one of my initial categories, and Ryan's Florist won with an overwhelming amount of support: http://arlington.patch.com/articles/and-the-best-florist-is ... Ryan's will be included in my list of winners later this summer.

What about including a category for best local art classes?

Yes, there's ACA and Artistry and many more. I don't see florist in the list.

Best Specialty/Gift store, hands down, is Derby Farm. Florist too. Though I also love Coyote Impressions and the new one at Divinity's old spot.

Best-local-art-classes should definitely be a category. And Karen Dillon's Artistry program should be in that category. And I would certainly vote for Artistry, though we've got other excellent options in Arlington.

"Art classes" would be a wonderful addition.

Hi all, due to all of your comments, I've decided to add best speciality/gift store and art classes as categories (luckily two categories hadn't received any nominations yet) ... for clarity, please add your nominations for these categories on their specific pages (by following the links above), otherwise they won't be considered. Thanks for the suggestions too, I agree that they're two really great categories.

You guys just sent out an email regarding to send your nominations or categories in but I read that it was already closed. If it is not, you need to add Best IT / Technology Company or Best Electronics Store.

Hi Justin, thanks for the note. Unfortunately, the categories are already closed. I like that idea for next year though.

How about best hair salon as well?

Hi Yvonne, so I did best hair salon/barber shop as part of our initial Readers' Choice rollout (http://arlington.patch.com/articles/and-the-best-hair-salon-barber-shop-in-arlington-is). Looking back, it would've been nice to do them all at the same time, hopefully next year. I'll include all the initial winners with the winners above at the end of the summer.

Next year I hope you add more restaurant categories like best high end restaurant - I'd say Scutra (which I wanted to vote for but it's American not Italian), best cheap date etc.

What about best Arlington website for news and opinion? I nominate YourArlington.com.
