Police Log: Carelessly Discarded Cigarette Leads to Smoldering Mulch

Incidents and arrests in Arlington on Tuesday, April 3.

Smoldering Mulch Extinguished on Mill Street

Officers responded to Mill Street at about 3:25 p.m. Tuesday for a report of an outside fire near a brook. The fire turned out to be “smoldering mulch” from a discarded cigarette, police said. It was extinguished with a bucket of water.

Arlington High School Student Transported to Hospital

An Arlington High School student was transported to Winchester Hospital at about 10:20 a.m. Tuesday after it was determined that she was under the influence of the cold medicine Coricidin, according to police.
