PHOTOS: New Business Opens on Mass. Ave.
Take a look inside Arlington's newest local business.
Mystic Wine Shoppe opened Wednesday afternoon at 901 Mass. Ave., the storefront to the right of Stop & Shop.
The shop’s owner, Eric Faiola, said Thursday afternoon that the first 24 hours had been busy. He said he’s planning a “grand opening” event in the coming weeks.
Faiola also owns and operates Arlington Lithograph with his brother Jake. The brother’s grandfather and his two brothers opened the local printing company 50 years ago, before passing it down.

The shop’s hours are 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. Its number is 781-646-2100.

Finally! And sooooo convenient, being next to Stop'n'Shop. I went in on Wednesday, and everyone was charming, and so was the store. I expected only WINE (gotta change that sign), but no, there's beer and The Hard Stuff, too. In time for summer sangrias and mimosas and long island iced teas.

Smart idea having it next to a high school. Even though it does look really nice expesially on the outside.

Too many "rule" signs covering the entire front of the business. It is intimadating and unnecessary

Drew,
We certainly understand your concern about the signage, but we want to make it clear that our store is for adults over the age of 21 only. We want it to be intimidating - to minors.
Once inside the store, you'll see it's relaxed and friendly, and a great new place to pick out artisanal wine, craft beer and spirits for every occasion.

the signs are not a problem. the store has a good selection . my only constructive criticism is that when you walk in the store the employees are all in your face asking you can i help you. i dont want to feel rushed picking out liqour and if people need help they will ask. the guy stood next to me and did not leave me alone while i was trying to pick out something. some buisnesses do this to prevent theft but its really annoying. if i want to take a long time deciding what i want leave me alone. i was just browsing but i felt rush to picked something out because the employees always are hanging over customers. this may not be ill intent but lots of customers want to pick there purchases in peace and not be hovered over by the employees. id like to try and take a real long time and pick out what i want im sure it would really get the employees worried. stay back and let people shop in peace. i saw them bothering other customers . most liquor stores let you browse with out getting in your face.
take it or leave it just my 2 cents. it really bothers me. it may be good intent but i would not be surprised if it bothered alot of people. seems like they dont like browsing and like rushing people for there choices though it may be a misconception on my part . that is what i find intimidating.
