Menotomy Road Woman Reports Residence Broken Into, Cat Stolen
Incidents and arrests in Arlington from Friday to Sunday, Oct. 5-7.
The following information comes from the Arlington Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
Menotomy Road Woman Reports Residence Broken Into, Cat Stolen
A Menotomy Road woman told police Saturday morning that she believed someone had broken into her residence Thursday and stolen one of her cats.
The woman said she came home from work Thursday to find one of the window screens in her kitchen popped out of its tracks and one of her cats missing. The woman said she believed she knew who did it.
She said the suspect knew that one of her kitchen windows is always left cracked open for her cats.
Nothing else was reported missing. Police are investigating the incident.
Woman Taken to Hospital After Falling Off Bicycle
A woman fell off of her bicycle Friday afternoon on the Minuteman bike path, near Brattle Place.
Police officers, firefighters and EMTs responded to the scene at about 2:08 p.m. for a report of an unconscious woman.
Once there, police found the woman, who was with her husband, on her side. She had a few scrapes on her hands and elbows and had been bleeding from her right ear, according to police. She was placed in a neck collar and boarded and taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston by ambulance, police said.
Her husband said that he was riding in front of her but believes that she may have fallen after striking a raised portion of the concrete path in that area.
The woman was wearing a helmet when she fell, according to police.

This is in response to the woman who fell on the bike path. I know the exact place she fell and it is not the first time there has been a serious accident. There is a tree root that is breaking through and when bikers hit it-they go flying. Arlington really needs to look into it.
