Man in Pickup Reportedly Runs Over Pedestrian’s Foot, Keeps Going

A male pedestrian was crossing Mass. Ave. at Mill Street shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday when a man in a pickup truck reportedly yelled at him, possibly drove over his foot and then took off.

The pedestrian, who was crossing toward Jason Street, told police that his foot hurt and he believed the truck may have run it over. He refused medical treatment.

According to a witness, the pedestrian was crossing with a “Walk” sign when the driver of the truck, who was taking an illegal right on red out of Jason Street, yelled something to the effect of “Get the [expletive] out of the way, or I’ll run you down!”

The pedestrian and the witness were unable to give police a detailed description of the pickup. The witness said the driver appeared to be “middle aged” and was balding. The truck had multiple passengers, she said.
